It is also the highest peak of Kilimanjaro and the highest peak in Africa.
UHURU REPUBLIC is an interdisciplinary artistic collective born between Torino, Genova, Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar and Nairobi that gives a new interpretation to the traditional Tanzanian / African music, dance, images and merges them with the old and new Italian / European trends. The act speaks a universal artistic language, with a strong interplay between the two expressive worlds.
The visual suggestions of the film director and documentarist Simone Pecorari (Uovoquadrato) support the narration of the project and its deep connection with the concept of conservation (of culture, music, dance, architecture, landscape and environment). The actions of the project are documented and shared within the Explore Love Protect media platform and Casa Bertallot web radio / FM.
Electronics, strings, voices, traditional percussions, strings, qanuns, flutes, nyatiti, tze tze, kalimbas, dancers and video projections all together in an energetic performance that melts tradition with innovation, Europe with Africa, electronic music with ancient music.
